Using Visionary Professional 8.0, we scanned in all his documents and  synchronized all the video depositions to the transcripts. Mr. Trybus had us barcode all the documents and pre-annotate all the documents with highlights and tear-outs. Doing this allowed for him to simply use the barcode reader to instantly bring up the documents onto the projector screen. Not only was he able to bring up the documents, but he could also use the barcodes to bring up the highlights and tear-outs we had made before the trial.

  During the trial, we made video clips from the plaintiffs previous deposition for impeachment(also barcoded). This was very useful for the jury to be able to see the plaintiff during her deposition give a different answer to the proposed question in trial.

 The true power of trial presentation lies in the ability to reach the jurors on multiple levels. Everyone retains information differently and for the jurors to be able to read, see and hear the evidence makes them a part of the presentation and keeps their attention exactly where Mr. Trybus wanted. The plaintiffs had made a dozen or so blow-up boards and had to constantly search through them and drag them out for the jury to see. They also had to point with their fingers to specific portions of the boards to draw attention to what they wanted, compared to our ability to draw the jurors attention onto a projector screen where the documents and images can be zoomed into, highlighted and even redacted at any given moment.

 The case settled two days into trial, but not before Mr. Trybus was able to lay out a strong defense by having the evidence available at the push of button and keeping the jurors attention exactly where he wanted it.

Our Miami office opening has been postponed again. We are still under construction and hard at work. Our new tentative date for opening is now March 1st.

Now that the permitting issues are gone, construction has restarted.

The CCVS certification is a two day course held by the AGCV. The course is an overview of the proper procedure for setting up, shooting and controlling the quality of a videotaped legal proceeding. The program is very similar to the CLVS certification by the NCRA. At the end of the two days, he was given a 200 question exam to complete the certification and he passed with flying colors.

Brian, now has the training, experience and certification that will uphold the high standards of quality that Legal Video Services is known for.

The certification process was a one and a half day, hands-on training class with a written test for certification at the end. The course is filled with valuable information on all of West Livenote software, including LiveNote Stream. LiveNote Stream is a powerful tool that can be used in a deposition and allow for experts, clients and other attorneys to sit in on the deposition without leaving home and only requires a broadband connection. The program allows for participants to watch the depo, read the realtime transcript and instant message to the onsite attorney. The training also teaches you how to create LEF and PTZ files for importing into West LiveNote family of case management software. The real value in the training is fully understanding all the different file formats and how to use them correctly with in the West LiveNote family of software(and training in San Francisco isn’t so bad, either).

The new office will have two conference rooms. The largest of the two conference rooms is 380 square feet in a boardroom setting and has room for twelve to fourteen individuals. This room will also have HD video conferencing with dual 50 inch flat screen viewing. The second conference room is smaller, but fits up six people comfortably in a deposition setting.

We will have editing and duplication services on-site, but the Fort Lauderdale office will still be our headquarters and will be the site for the majority of our post-production work.
